The Badhaai Ho gang is returning with Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is slated for a Valentine’s Day release next year.

The Badhaai Ho trio is set to return with Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. While Ayushmann Khurrana is to play the lead role in the sequel of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao have also been finalized for the upcoming film.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan will deal with the subject of homosexuality and the taboo around it. The male actor who will play Ayushmann’s love interest has not been finalized yet.

Film critic and trade anaylst Taran Adarsh announced the film’s recent cast additions on social media. He wrote on Twitter, “#Update: Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao, who won hearts in #BadhaaiHo, join the cast of #ShubhMangalZyadaSaavdhan… Stars Ayushmann Khurrana… Directed by Hitesh Kewalya… Produced by Aanand L Rai… Valentine Day 2020 release.”

In Badhaai Ho, the duo played the role of Ayushmann’s parents and earned great reviews for their performance in the film, which went on to become a sleeper hit in no time. What role both of them will play in this film is being kept under wraps for now.

Earlier, makers of Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan had released a teaser of the film, announcing the news of the film’s subject creatively through animation.The teaser created massive excitement for the film among fans.

The subject of homosexuality was addressed from the female gaze and perspective this year in Sonam Kapoor’s Ek Ladki Ki Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Audiences will have to wait and see what the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer brings to the table.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is being helmed by Hitesh Kewalya and bankrolled by Anand L Rai. The prequel, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, received overwhelming response from the audience and critics alike for the way it dealt with a subject like erectile dysfunction. The film was helmed by RS Prasanna and released on 1 September 2017. It also starred Bhumi Pednekar as the female lead.

Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan is slated for a Valentine’s Day release next year. On 14 February 2020, the film will also clash with Imtiaz Ali’s Aaj Kal starring Sara Ali Khan, Kartik Aaryan and Randeep Hooda.

Meanwhile, Ayushmann Khurrana will also be seen alongside Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar in Bala and opposite Nushrat Bharucha in Dream Girl.
