Yash Raj Films has announced its next theatrical release. The film is called ‘Mupapa’. It stars Ayushmann Khurrana and is ready to hit cinemas on February 19, 2027.
Mupapa is the first theatrical collaboration between Yash Raj Films and Posham Pa Pictures. The film is being produced by YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani, who also recently produced Saiyaara. A YRF spokesperson confirmed the release date and the details of the project.

The collaboration fits into a larger restructuring underway at Yash Raj Films. Aditya Chopra has been building a new creative business model within the banner, with Akshaye Widhani leading it as CEO. Mupapa is one of the projects coming out of that structure.

Mupapa is directed by Sameer Saxena. YRF has described it as a genre-defying theatrical film. The banner says it is designed to offer audiences a fresh and visually striking experience on the big screen. The film is also expected to be high on excitement from its opening moments.

Ayushmann Khurrana last appeared in Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, a romantic comedy that released in theatres on May 15, 2026. The film was directed and written by Mudassar Aziz. It served as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh.
The cast alongside Ayushmann included Wamiqa Gabbi, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh. His character in the film was named Prajapati.
Speaking about the role earlier, Ayushmann had said, “I found Prajapati to be a man who is honest and whose intentions are clean. Still, the kind of situations he finds himself in draws laughs.”
He also described the character’s arc through the film. “When you watch him navigate one problem after another in this comedy of errors, you realize he never imagined his life would take such a turn. He’s quite a star of the jungle, but dealing with three women in the film is a chaos he never imagined would enter his life,” he said.
