Top separatists, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Yasin Malik on Wednesday called for the boycott of the 5-phased Lok Sabha elections that will begin on Thursday in Jammu and Kashmir.

They also called for shutdown during the first phase of polling in the Jammu and Baramulla constituencies.

The separatists called for a boycott of the subsequent four phases of polling. There are six Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Mirwaiz is being questioned in Delhi by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a terror funding case. Malik has been shifted to the Tihar Jail in Delhi for further questioning in the case.
