According to Delhi Police, information about the incident reached New Ashok Nagar Police Station through a PCR call received on June 4 at around 2:35 pm.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the site on Sunday and reviewed the ongoing rescue efforts as authorities intensified search operations in the Mehrauli police station area.

However, the respite may prove short-lived. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for Delhi and adjoining NCR regions, cautioning that severe heatwave conditions are expected to persist until May 27.
On Monday, the agency stated that Delhi’s cleanliness campaign has gained momentum with over 400 events organised across the city until August 15. The movement was joined by people from all walks of life, including Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), Market Traders Associations( MTAs), public representatives, and citizens in a common resolve towards a cleaner capital.
The programme began with the inauguration of the "Awareness Wall" created by Delhi Police at Daulat Ram College, followed by a drug awareness video screening through a special "Jan Sampark Vahan" of the city police.
The men have been identified as Rajeev (40), a resident of Shamli; Vikas (20) from Hapur; Ashu (55), a native of Meerut; and Ramanjot Singh (24) from Ghaziabad, they said.
The incident took place late on Sunday when the soldier, Kapil Kavad of the Rajput Regiment, was on his way to Delhi airport to catch a flight to Srinagar, where he is currently posted. Kavad had come to his hometown on leave.
