This year tourists visiting Kedarnath will provided a rare treat of laser show- depicting the story of the famous pilgrimage town. A 25 minute laser show will be hosted in Kedarnath from April 28 to May 5. The portals of this famous Hindu shrine will reopen on coming 29 April and speculations are on that Prime Minister Narendra Modi might attend the opening ceremony.

Located at an altitude of 11,755 Ft above sea level in district Ruderprayag, the shrine annually attracts pilgrims from far and near. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat said, “This time, a laser show will be organised in which history of Shri Kedarnath ji, right from its origin to 2013, will be shown. The 25-minute show will be hosted from April 28 till May 05, 2018.”

The laser show has turned political and ex-Uttarakhand Chief Minister and Congress leader Harish Rawat objected and termed it an insult to Lord Shiva and his devotees. Without bothering about what Congress leaders are saying, the state government is making elaborated arrangements for the pilgrimage.

According to an official press release, this time special focus will be paid on providing medical facilities to tourists visiting Kedarnath and Yamunotri. As one has to undertake a 16 km trek to reach Kedarnath, a doctor will be available on every kilometer on the trek route to provide medical service to the pilgrims.
