Mahila Arogya Samiti and ICDS hold programme on safe motherhood

A programme on safe motherhood was jointly held by the Mahila Arogya Samiti and ICDS in the urban area on Wednesday. The meeting was presided over by social and health activist Ubachak Mohanty.

The chief district medical officer Bibekananda Das attended the meeting and explained about safe motherhood, and mentioned about the nutritional requirements of mother during pre and postnatal delivery period.

The DPM P P Pati mentioned about the facilities available to the mothers under the National Health Mission. The CDPO (urban) Sabita Rout talked about the Mamata scheme and golden 100 day scheme for them.

The programme was attended by Asha workers, Anganwadi workers and members of Mahila Arogya Samiti, assistant manager of NHM Phanibhusan Patnaik and the manager of public health Sanjay Parida were among the other speakers in the meeting.
