Jammu and Kashmir: Army’s rescue operation in flood-hit Rajouri saves 11 civilians
Among the 11 rescued persons, five were children. They were stranded at different places in the flood-affected district following incessant rainfall.
Residents of five villages near the Line of Control (LOC) in the Uri sector of North Kashmir have started fleeing to safer places as Pakistan Army continued to shell civilian areas for the fifth consecutive day on Friday.
Reports said that residents of Silikote, Balkote, Tilawari, Churanda and Batgarh villages have started fleeing early this morning in view of the heavy shelling by the Pakistan troops. They were firing mortars at regular intervals as a result of which many houses have been damaged.

The fleeing border residents have been put up in a makeshift camp established in the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Uri town.

Three civilians were injured due to shelling earlier this week.
The J&K DGP SP Vaid said this morning that about 500 people of the border have migrated to safer areas. The DC and SSP of Baramulla district were on the spot looking after the people.
