Two people were on Sunday arrested here for possessing demonetised currency worth Rs 50 lakh by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
According to the police, They both were identified as Nazir Ahmad Rather, a resident of Baramulla district, and Akeel Ahmad Khan, a resident of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

They both were arrested during a routine check in Srinagar.

Police Officials in a Statement said, “Demonetised currency notes worth Rs 50 lakh were recovered from their possession. They have been booked under the relevant sections of law and would be presented in the court,” a police statement said.
