Haryana fixes criteria for recruitment to HCS posts

With a view to bring more transparency in recruitment for top posts, Haryana government has decided the criteria for making recruitment to the Haryana Civil Service (HCS), (Executive Branch) from Register A-1 and Register-C under rule 9 and 14 of the Haryana Civil Service (Executive Branch) Rules, 2008.

An official spokesperson said that it has been decided that while making recommendations for recruitment to HCS (Executive Branch) from Register A-1 and Register C, the candidates would be assessed by the departments on the basis of scrutiny of their service records, relevant experience, academic achievements and appreciation letters issued on the basis of Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) as per Government’s instructions and names of the meritorious candidates would be forwarded by the Departments to the Chief Secretary.

He said that out of maximum 100 marks, 70 per cent weightage or 70 marks would be given for service records with particular reference to ACRs for the last eight years, 13 per cent weightage or 13 marks each for relevant experience and academic achievements, and four per cent weightage or four marks would be given for appreciation letters issued on the basis of ACR as per government instructions during the last eight years.
