Ganja worth Rs 1.8 cr seized from MP’s Jabalpur
Sources said that the police had received a tip-off about the ganja being ferried in a truck from Jharkhand to MP to be supplied to various places in the state for the upcoming New Year celebrations.

In the latest interception of drug peddling, the Special Task Force of Odisha police seized 1.38 kilograms of brown sugar worth around Rs 1.5 crore by nabbing an interstate drug peddler at Masjidgali near Railway Level Crossing of Aradabazar in Balasore Township.

The drug peddler booked under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) was later remanded to judicial custody, said officials adding that further investigation is underway to ascertain whether he was supplying drugs to other parts of the State.

Over the last two years, the STF has seized more than 57 kg of brown sugar, 202 grams of cocaine, and 111 quintals of ganja. During this period, as many as 158 drug peddlers have been arrested, added STF officials.
