Cambridge International plans to increase its footprint in India with 1,000 schools and reach 500,000 learners in the next three years.

Mr Rod Smith, Group Managing Director of International Education at Cambridge University Press and Assessment (CUP&A) recently visited India and announced it. Cambridge University Press and Assessment is a part of Cambridge University, UK.

Cambridge University Press and Assessment has also announced strategic partnership with select institutions to address English language proficiency, aligning with industry expectations. Language proficiency is becoming increasingly vital for success in the global job market. The CUP&A has partnered with renowned institutions to design programmes that aim at assisting learners in moving closer to their desired careers by enhancing their communication skills. When the hiring market becomes more vibrant there is a growing need for educational institutions to take more ownership of aligning curricula with corporate needs, focusing on holistic skills and personality development. Cambridge’s programmes are designed to nurture globally relevant skills, encouraging students to engage in diverse fields and broaden their prospects.

Recognizing the pivotal role of teachers in shaping the future, Cambridge International targets empowering 50,000 teachers with enhanced academic resources and training over the next three years. With a growing acceptance of international curriculum in India, Cambridge Education is gearing up to create an ecosystem that can potentially nurture the aspirations of the students and their parents.

Speaking on the expansion Arun Rajamani, managing director Cambridge University Press and Assessment , South Asia, said, “In India, the education sector is undergoing a shift towards internationalization. Currently, parents’ aspirations extend beyond the international market to include India as well. Therefore, students are increasingly moving to different states or major cities to pursue higher education and enrol in top universities. Cambridge provides flexible curriculum options at all levels to accommodate the challenging requirements of the local education system, catering to the needs of the learners. Additionally we can extend our offerings to local partner schools for further expansion.”
