The Asansol Division of Eastern Railway provided prompt medical assistance to an ailing woman passenger under Operation Sewa at Asansol Railway Station today, ensuring timely care and support.

At around 9.45 a.m, on-duty staff at the drop-off zone noticed a woman passenger in distress near the booking counter on the southern side of the station, requiring urgent medical attention. The matter was immediately communicated to Gouri Devi Hospital, Asansol, and the Deputy Station Superintendent (Dy SS), Asansol. A doctor examined the passenger and, noting symptoms of chest pain, advised that she be referred to the District Hospital, Asansol for further treatment.

Railway staff promptly arranged a private vehicle and ensured her safe transfer to the district hospital, Asansol, escorted by Lady Head Constable Lila Choudhary. The passenger was admitted to the female ward and is currently undergoing treatment.

The passenger has been identified as Kavita Bauri (35), wife of Niraj Rajak, a resident of Gayardi Tola, Jhariyadi, under Adra police station in Purulia district.

The coordinated efforts of railway and medical staff reflect the passenger-friendly approach of the Asansol Division in providing timely assistance and care to those in need.
