The petitioners claimed that the committee came out with an “erroneous” report that those who died did not suffer suffocation due to a lack of oxygen supply.
Arvind Kejriwal said the tower has been set up as a pilot project and initial trends will be available within a month. If the pilot project is successful, more smog towers will be installed in the national capital.
An FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code Sections 302 (murder) and 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence) against unidentified persons and further probe into the case was on, he added.
He said that Sree Narayana Guru’s messages proclaiming humanity over caste and religion need to be understood and sincerely followed in the prevailing times “more than ever” for the “betterment” of society.
“There are some problems about senior designation in various courts. The SCBA (the Supreme Court Bar Association) has also requested senior designation. I want to take this up,” said the CJI.
