The three farm laws that were passed last year around the same time have been a cause of widespread agitation with a consortium of farmers staging a protest, especially in northwest India and at Delhi’s doorsteps and earlier within the national capital too, demanding the government to repeal it.
“This struggle had brought every Indian, irrespective of their differences, together. Youth, women, labourers, aarthi, traders from states like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal and Kerala stood united against the laws. This might have been the biggest and longest peaceful struggle in the world.”

Kim said the government’s priority will be swiftly adding hospital beds and supporting medical resources needed at hospitals as quickly as possible.
The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Act allows farmers to do contract farming and market their produces freely.
“I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi who listened to the long outstanding demand of the farmers and took the decision. I also ask the Union government to compensate the families of farmers who passed away during the protest,” he told the media.
