According to police, the Etawah police and the Special Operations Group (SOG) reached Shikohabad railway station on Friday as the Sambalpur Express was about to depart for Jharkhand. They had received information that two wanted criminals involved in a robbery case were attempting to escape on the train.
ADG (Agra Zone) SK Bhagat said a doctor was robbed in Etawah on July 3, and the police had been searching for the accused, identified as Sumit and Ankit. Acting on a tip-off that the duo was at Shikohabad railway station, teams from the Etawah police, SOG, and Shikohabad police launched an operation to arrest them.

Both injured personnel were initially taken to the Firozabad Government Trauma Centre before being referred to Agra for advanced treatment.
