Diljit Dosanjh made his stance pretty clear during a recent Instagram Live. When a fan brought up the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar, the singer actor did not hold back on where he stands. A fan asked him directly about the protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar, and Diljit responded by saying he was not even aware of the protest happening.
Dosanjh said people should keep him far away from protests and things like that. He added that he is an artiste, not a politician. He also said that everything in life can never be completely fine, and the world itself can never be entirely free of problems.

To wrap up his thought, Diljit quoted a line from the Guru Granth Sahib. The line roughly translates to saying the entire world carries some form of suffering, and only those anchored to the divine name find true peace.
What the protest is actually about
The Cockroach Janata Party, known as CJP, has been holding a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. The core demand from activists is the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Their grievance centers on repeated examination paper leaks and alleged irregularities in the education and recruitment system. Students and supporters from multiple states have shown up to back the cause, pushing for more transparency and accountability in how exams and recruitment processes are handled.
The protest gained extra visibility after climate activist Sonam Wangchuk joined in through a hunger strike.
Diljit’s current work
While this comment made headlines, Diljit has been keeping busy on the work front. His most recent film appearance was in Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga, a drama set during the India Pakistan Partition.
The film also features Naseeruddin Shah, Sharvari, and Vedang Raina. It has turned out to be one of the more unexpected box office successes of 2026, earning strong reviews and continuing a solid theatrical run thanks to positive word of mouth from audiences.
Beyond films, Diljit is currently on the road with his Aura Tour 2026, performing at venues across different countries as part of the global run.
