Patiala Police have arrested the two alleged shooters involved in the firing at a property dealer’s office in Rajpura last week, describing the operation as a breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown against organised crime and gangster networks in the district.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Varun Sharma said the arrests were made by joint teams of the CIA units of Patiala, Samana and Rajpura in connection with the June 26 firing incident at the office of Laxmi Property Dealer in Rajpura.

According to the SSP, the accused allegedly opened fire on the police after being asked to surrender during the operation. Police personnel retaliated in self-defence, during which one of the accused sustained a bullet injury in the leg. Both suspects were subsequently overpowered and taken into custody.
The accused have been identified as Paramjit Singh alias Pamma and Jaskaran Singh, both residents of Hamira village in Kapurthala district. Police also arrested three other alleged associates of the gang who are accused of providing weapons and logistical support to the shooters.
Police said the responsibility for the Rajpura firing was allegedly claimed on social media by gangster Goldy Dhillon. The SSP further said that threats had also been issued to the Rajpura MLA and her son following the incident.
Sharma said the latest arrests marked the detention of the 18th and 19th members allegedly linked to the Goldy Dhillon gang by Patiala Police over the past eight months. He reiterated that the district police were following a zero-tolerance policy against organised crime, gangster activities and extortion, adding that sustained operations would continue against criminal networks.
Further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
