Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini held a meeting with leaders of various farmer organisations from Punjab at Sant Kabir Kutir on Tuesday, May 26.
During the meeting, Saini assured them that all the concerns related to farmers as well as the agriculture sector would be addressed on priority once a BJP government is formed in Punjab.

The discussion was majorly focused on the key challenges that farmers are facing in Punjab, besides agricultural reforms and measures required to strengthen the farming community economically and socially, read a statement.
“During this time, the representatives informed me about the deteriorating condition of farmers in Punjab, the challenges related to the agricultural sector, and the problems being faced in the electricity supply for farming. Even today, the farmers of Punjab are deprived of the proper benefits of many farmer-friendly schemes and policies of the Central Government. Listening seriously to the concerns of the farmer representatives, I assured them of every possible cooperation and support,” Saini wrote on X.
Among those included in the delegation were representatives of the Doaba Kisan Union, Kisan Bachao Morcha and members of the Kamboj community. While meeting the Haryana CM, they placed several issues concerning farmers in Punjab and sought effective and long-term solutions.
In response, Saini said that the BJP has always considered farmers’ welfare as central to its governance and policy framework. He added that the BJP governments at both the Centre and in Haryana have consistently worked with commitment and sensitivity for the welfare, prosperity and economic upliftment of farmers, the statement added.
Further, Saini informed the delegation that in Haryana farmers were being provided the benefit of crop procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP), besides ensuring financial security and protection from market fluctuations. Also, they were being compensated promptly in cases of natural calamities and crop damage.
Moreover, the Haryana Chief Minister said the state government has implemented several progressive measures aimed at increasing farmers’ income, strengthening the rural economy and making agriculture more profitable and sustainable occupation.
President of Doaba Kisan Union (DKU) Punjab, Kuldeep Singh Bazidpur; General Secretary Kuldeep Singh Deyala; Youth President Jaskaran Singh; President of Kisan Bachao Morcha, Kripa Singh Natthuwala; General Secretary Goma Singh; Vice President Beant Singh; Chairperson Salender Kaur; former Chairman Jarnail Singh Sandha; and BJP Kisan Morcha State Vice President Lakhwinder Singh Momi remained present during the meeting.
