The revamped post office at Delhi’s Nehru Place, equipped with modern facilities, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Union Minister of Communication Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday.

Notably, the revamped post office is set to offer citizens faster, simpler, and more modern public services.

The minister said under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the India Post has transformed itself through technology to meet the needs of the new era and evolving technology in the communication domain.

Scindia said this post office building, which has been designed by the School of Planning and Architecture, is special in itself because when a citizen enters it, he will experience Modern Governance and feel the essence of Citizen First Approach in Modern Identity.
Taking to social media platform X, he shared that this post office is a major step towards making the department’s institutions future ready in the world where technology is advancing at a fast pace.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Gupta stated that now, the post offices of ‘New India’ are no longer limited to letters. They have turned into modern centers of public services providing facilities like banking, insurance, Aadhaar, and passports.
Appreciating the efforts of the Department of Posts, Gupta said they have developed and evolved in line with the new era by integrating with technology.

She expressed confidence that the new post office will provide citizens with an improved experience of faster, simpler, and modern services.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, MLA Shikha Rai, and several others were also present on the occasion.
Moving ahead with technological advancements , the department has been evolving and upgrading, as well as expanding its working, as well as products.

Earlier, this year, in the month of March, Communications Minister had rolled out India Post’s guaranteed next-day delivery services including 24 Speed Post, 24 Speed Post Parcel, and 48 Speed Post, to benefit the people with time-bound delivery of their consignments.
The service, will initially be made available across six big cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

Scindia had said that the entire system is backed by advanced technology and well structured process to ensure maximum efficiency and success.
