Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday said India has not revised retail petrol and diesel prices in the last 60 days despite the increased prices of crude oil and LPG in the global market.
He was speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for South Gujarat in Surat.

As the West Asia crisis continues to impact energy flows, Puri said, “Freight costs rise, insurance costs rise, cargos are delayed, and every important country is forced to make hard choices. Yet, 60 days into the disruption, India is standing strong.”
He stated that under the leadership of
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has not allowed Indian kitchens to run short.
“We have not revised retail petrol and diesel prices. We have not allowed panic to become policy. In many other markets, citizens have seen queues, emergency revisions, rationing concerns, curtailed retail hours, and odd even working hours,” he said.
Puri said there has been a zero increase in Indian energy prices at the retail point.
He further said as far as the government is concerned and the commitment to the consumer is concerned, there has been zero increase but that is not only in this last 60 days, also in the last four years.
“Many of our colleagues in the world’s largest and most vibrant democratic system say that we have kept prices under control because we have an election. We’ve had many elections in the last four years,” Puri said.
This two-day conference held in Surat includes six districts of South Gujarat, including Surat, with active participation from representatives associated with industry, agriculture, MSMEs, and the service sector.
The main objective of the conference is to accelerate regional industrial growth, attract investors, and create new employment opportunities.
