‘Slowly, slowly people are getting clarity and returning to the right path’: Rajyavardhan Rathore on Raghav Chadha’s BJP switch

BJP leader and Rajasthan minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Saturday welcomed AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and others into BJP, saying that people are slowly getting “clarity” and returning to “right path”.

“Anybody is welcome. Raghav Chadha is also welcome. Slowly, slowly people are getting clarity and returning to the right path,” Rathore said, while speaking at the NDTV Yuva 2026 conclave in Delhi.

The remarks came a day after Chadha, along with six other AAP Rajya Sabha MPs – Swati Maliwal, Ashok Mittal, Sandeep Pathak, Harbhajan Singh, Rajinder Gupta and Vikram Sahney – merged with the BJP, citing differences with the Arvind Kejriwal-led party.

Rathore also referred to Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge’s recent controversial remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying it was important for politicians and leaders to maintain calm under pressure in any situation.

Kharge had called Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “terrorist”, a remark that triggered massive outrage, prompting the BJP to lodge a formal complaint with the Election Commission of India.
