Rajya Sabha polls on agenda as BJP leaders huddle at PM Modi’s residence today
The elections for 24 Rajya Sabha seats spread across 10 states are set to take place on June 18, as announced by the Election Commission.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while speaking to Brazil’s President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Thursday, said that the close cooperation between the two nations is vital for advancing the shared interests of the Global South.

The Prime Minister had paid a state visit to Brazil on 8 July 2025 on the invitation of the Brazilian president.
PM Modi and President Lula exchanged views on a wide range of bilateral, regional and global issues. They reaffirmed their resolve to bolster the India-Brazil Strategic Partnership, while sustaining their countries’ distinct roles in global affairs, grounded in shared values and oriented by higher purposes, thus contributing to the pursuit of peace, prosperity and sustainable development of their peoples.
