With major digital reforms, the Himachal Pradesh Revenue Department is adopting advanced technologies on a wide scale to ensure greater transparency and ease of service delivery.

A government spokesperson said here on Friday that the digital push has not only accelerated revenue-related work but has also spared people the inconvenience of repeated visits to government offices.
The reforms introduced by the present government have begun showing visible improvements at the ground level, he added.

“Two years ago, the state government launched the Revenue Management Portal, which has since emerged as an important platform for monitoring and accessing revenue cases. So far, orders in 1,16,490 cases have been uploaded on the portal. Details of ongoing cases are updated regularly, enabling citizens to access information anytime without physically approaching the offices concerned,” he said.

The spokesperson further said that the state government is committed to ensuring transparency not only in the Revenue Department but across all departments through the adoption of modern technology.
“Emphasis is being laid on digitization and strengthening the e-filing system in routine government functioning, since nearly 90 percent of Himachal Pradesh’s population is linked with agriculture, a transparent, efficient and technologically robust land administration system is essential,” he said.

The paperless registry system ‘My Deed’ is also delivering encouraging results. Under this system, 55,874 registries have been completed across the state, he said, adding that citizens can apply for registry online from anywhere, with only a single visit required to the tehsil office, saving both time and money.

To streamline the work of revenue officials, the government has introduced the e-Roznamcha system, allowing online filing of the Daily Incidents Diary, he said.

“In a further push towards good governance, all revenue courts in the state were made online from 1 September 2025. Processes related to partition, demarcation, correction, and encroachment are now being undertaken through an e-filing model, making the entire process quicker and paperless. Since its launch, 5,940 cases have been filed using this system,” he said.

All land record maps in the state have also been digitized and geo-referenced, linking them with digital maps.

The official said this step would bring greater transparency and accuracy to land-related matters and offer significant convenience to landowners.

Chief Minister Sukhu said the government firmly believes in transparency, ensuring citizens receive better services from the comfort of their homes.

“I believe that digitization of departments is essential to ensure transparency and accountability in the system,” he said.
