Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Tuesday again advised officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) to work humbly for maximum public good, as the ultimate goal of good governance is to ensure that the benefits of development and welfare reach out to the most needy persons.

“Instilling trust among citizens is the prime goal of good governance. The trust of the people is our valued asset and it must be sustained under all circumstances,” the CM stated in his inaugural address at the two-day Commissioners and Collectors Conference on 7 and 8 October at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre in Bhopal.

Yadav noted that a responsible and accountable governance system has been laid, where every public servant must use their talent, diligence, ability, and dedication to ensure that the optimum benefits of the schemes reach the neediest.

He said that everyone must move forward with the goal of national and social development.

Yadav stated that the ultimate goal of good governance is to ensure that the benefits of development and welfare reach out to the most needy persons, as the government stands in support of everyone. He added that instilling trust among citizens is the prime goal of good governance.

The Chief Minister shared that the two-day conference will discuss ways to make the administrative system simpler, more transparent, efficient, and decentralized so that the benefits of government schemes reach citizens more quickly. He urged officers to distinguish themselves through their functioning and innovations, to communicate sincerely with the public, media, and people’s representatives, and to voice their perspectives on issues with competence and factual clarity.

Yadav advised that officers should work humbly, learning continuously and applying their experience effectively for maximum public good through innovation.

Highlighting the pivotal role of officers in democracy and public welfare, the Chief Minister said that effective field-level implementation ensures real benefits to citizens. “Through good governance, we can achieve great results,” he added, urging officials to advance in this direction.

He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is rapidly progressing toward becoming a developed nation.

“The Prime Minister’s mantra of Perform, Reform, and Transform must guide all officers, as they contribute to building a Developed and Self-Reliant Madhya Pradesh as part of a Developed and Self-Reliant India,” the MP CM asserted.

Yadav encouraged Collectors of all districts to initiate public-oriented work that future generations will remember. He lauded the state’s achievements in agriculture — leading in pulses, spices, and tomato production; ranking second in wheat, maize, and chili; and fourth in milk production — with a goal to make the state the Dairy Capital of India. “Our share in national milk production must rise from 9% to 20%,” the CM urged.

Referring to the goals of the National Education Policy 2020, the Chief Minister underscored providing quality, skill-oriented, and value-based education to every child. He pointed out that apart from 100% literacy, increasing enrolment rates is also crucial. He urged continual field visits, overnight stays in villages, and surprise inspections of schools, hostels, aanganwadis, ration shops, hospitals, and ongoing projects.

He asked officials to further streamline the mechanism of public hearings, maintain active communication with citizens, and promptly verify and counteract misinformation appearing in media or social platforms. “Social media should be effectively used to spread awareness about welfare initiatives,” he stressed.

Yadav described Simhastha 2028 as an opportunity to showcase Madhya Pradesh’s spiritual, cultural, and religious richness to the world. He instructed officers to focus on the restoration and beautification of cultural and religious heritage sites, and to ensure the completion of projects like Ram Van Gaman Path and Shri Krishna Pathay before the event. These efforts would boost the state’s economy by creating local employment opportunities.

Highlighting the conference objectives and ‘Vision – 2047’, the Chief Minister concluded that the two-day conference would be highly beneficial for the people and expressed confidence in achieving the government’s targets through officers’ commitment and teamwork.

“Together, we will make Madhya Pradesh a leading state in governance, development, and public welfare,” he stated.
