In a significant administrative reshuffle aimed at enhancing efficiency and strengthening governance, the Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday reassigned key responsibilities to three Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. The changes, notified by the General Administration Department, are expected to bring greater momentum to education, urban development and district administration.
According to the official order, Kiran Kaushal, a 2009 batch IAS officer, has been appointed Commissioner, Samagra Shiksha, a key post overseeing school education reforms in the state. She has also been given the additional charge of Managing Director, Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation, placing her at the helm of curriculum and textbook management.

Another 2009 batch officer, Avneesh Kumar Sharan, has been assigned the additional responsibility of Chief Executive Officer, Raipur Development Authority. The appointment comes in view of his administrative experience, as the state looks to accelerate planning and development works in the capital region.
Meanwhile, the government has appointed Akash Chhikara, a 2017 batch IAS officer, as the new Collector of Bastar district. Bastar, a region of strategic administrative and security importance, requires close coordination between civil administration and field agencies.
The reshuffle is being seen as part of the government’s broader effort to streamline decision-making, strengthen institutional leadership and improve service delivery at both departmental and district levels. The new assignments are expected to lend greater administrative focus and operational effectiveness in the coming months.
