Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Sunday flagged off free ambulance services provided by Aakash Healthcare Group, stepping up the city’s medical emergency preparedness.

Under the public-private partnership model, the Health Minister launched ten Aakash Community Life Savers (ACLS) free ambulances, strengthening the national capital’s capacity to handle medical emergencies and provide rapid medical assistance.

The launch was held in Dwarka and was attended by Robin Hibu, Special Commissioner of Police at Delhi Armed Police.

Expressing faith in the transformative power of public-private partnerships in improving Delhi’s healthcare service, Singh said, “I have always maintained that when government institutions start collaborating with private hospitals or entities to provide facilities to the public, it changes both the condition and the direction of that state.”

He welcomed the launch of the ambulance service and praised the initiative for reducing the average response time by five minutes — from 30 minutes to 25 minutes — in reaching patients.

Singh also outlined the government’s ongoing efforts to develop a single-call response system for patients. He urged institutions, including Aakash Hospital, to extend support in ensuring a seamless response to health emergencies in the city.

Speaking to a news agency regarding the Delhi government’s ongoing drive against adulterated consumable food items, Singh affirmed strict action against persons selling counterfeit goods.

“I want to say that any person or entity caught selling adulterated or counterfeit goods will under no circumstances be spared. Our team is working with full preparedness, and no one involved in manufacturing or selling adulterated products will be able to escape,” he added.
