In a step towards making things comfortable for working mothers and their children in Delhi, a total of 502 Palna Ghar Anganwadi-cum-crèche centres have been launched as part of the service fortnight that began on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, these centers are a gift for the mothers in the nation, as part of the ‘Seva Pakhwada’ on PM’s birthday.

The centers were inaugurated on Thursday in presence of the Union Minister of Women and Child Development Annpurna Devi, Delhi CM and Harsh Malhotra, Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, at a municipal corporation primary school in East Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar.
CM Gupta said these centers will provide vital support for the nutrition and care of young children, enabling working and laboring mothers to fulfill their responsibilities and livelihoods with ease.
Taking to social media platform X, the CM shared that the Anganwadi and crèche workers will now be affectionately referred to as ‘Mousi’, symbolizing motherly love, care, and nurturing.
Gupta said that the mothers will now be able to maintain a balance between their aspirations and responsibilities without being stressed about taking care of small children.
There are several initiatives and schemes being launched in Delhi as part of the Seva Pakhwada celebrations, marking the birthday of PM. This service fortnight that began on Wednesday, will continue till October 2, the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Those present on the occasion included MLAs Ravikant, Ravi Negi ji, and district BJP leader Vijender Dhama ji, and others. Meanwhile, the CM has also said that in a bid to empower women, the Delhi government is working on providing MSME loans without any need of a guarantee, so that the women can start their own business to become self-reliant.
