Miley Cyrus has always been open about her personal life, but this time she’s letting people in on a funny and somewhat awkward truth that she doesn’t always agree with her mother, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, especially when it comes to dating advice.
In a recent conversation with ‘The Cut’, Miley spoke about her family and the kind of influence her mom has had on her love life.

According to Miley Cyrus, her mother has a habit of encouraging her to stay in relationships for reasons that don’t exactly scream “true love.”

“Mom’s always wanted me to stay with the wrong guy ’cause they’re hot,” Miley joked. Fans will remember her past romances with Liam Hemsworth, Cody Simpson, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Tish, however, wasn’t ready to let that comment go without a defense. She explained her point of view in a way only she could. “Well, that was great advice because after so many years, you’re kind of over it and you’re like… in a relationship. At least you get to look at somebody that’s frigging hot!” she said.
Miley, now in a happy relationship with musician Maxx Morando, made it clear that she’s learned to prioritize things differently.
“I had to find someone who treats me with respect,” she said. “Mom never really put that on the top three of her must-haves. Mom was like, ‘They need to be tall.’”
Still, Miley couldn’t resist pointing out that she didn’t have to give up on looks altogether. “My man’s hot as hell too. But my man also respects me.”
The Cyrus family has been in the spotlight for decades, and their personal lives often make headlines. Tish was married to country star Billy Ray Cyrus from 1992 until their divorce in 2022. She later found love again with actor Dominic Purcell. He is popular for his role in ‘Prison Break’, and the two tied the knot in 2023.
Billy Ray also moved on and went public with model Elizabeth Hurley earlier this year.
