When you create something with your heart, the least you expect is a “thank you”. But for one international music producer, even that never came. Instead, he claims one of the biggest music labels in India, T-Series, and the popular composer duo Sachet-Parampara, took his beat, turned it into a chart-topping song ‘Raanjhan’ for the movie ‘Do Patti’, and gave him nothing in return, not even a mention in the credits.
The producer, who goes by the name KMKZ, says he is shocked and upset. According to him, the beat he uploaded online two years ago has now been turned into a blockbuster track that has crossed 290 million streams on Spotify and even reached the number one spot on the Indian Billboard charts.

On Tuesday, KMKZ took to Instagram with a video that has since caught the attention of music lovers and industry insiders. In the clip, he explains the strange way he found out about the alleged copyright issue.
“I produced the number one song in India and I didn’t even know about it,” he begins.
The producer shares how a fan recognized the piano melody of the hit track as one of his old beats from YouTube. That tip-off made him curious. When he finally listened to the song himself, he claims he couldn’t believe his ears.
“I see that it has 290 million streams on Spotify. And if you look at the credits for the song, you can see that it’s from T-Series. I emailed the artist. I emailed everybody at T-Series that I could find, and I got zero response from anybody,” KMKZ says in the video.
According to his account, KMKZ has been sending mails to T-Series and Sachet-Parampara but hasn’t received a single reply. He accuses the label of simply lifting his work from YouTube without a conversation or contract.
“They pretty much just ripped the beat off YouTube and didn’t contact me or pay me or credit me or anything. And now they have a number one song on Indian Billboard,” he said, visibly frustrated.
In his Instagram caption, he wrote, “If anyone knows anyone who can help me out with this in some way, then please get this video to them and have them DM me asap! And please leave a comment on this video and share it so it can reach the right people.”
Adding to that, he also stated, “There’s so many stories of producers getting ripped off nowadays but man, 300m streams and number 1 on Billboard is crazy. I DEMAND A PLAQUE.”
The song ‘Raanjhan’ is from drama-thriller ‘Do Patti’. The film, directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and written by Kanika Dhillon, features Kajol and Kriti Sanon in powerful roles.
