A 55-year-old man was allegedly murdered by his 32-year-old daughter using a tawa (griddle) at their residence in Delhi’s Shahdara, the Delhi Police said on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Tek Chand Goyal, a resident of Budh Bazar in Shahdara’s Ramnagar area.

According to the Delhi Police, they were informed about the incident at around 3:56 pm at the MS Park police station by authorities from GTB Hospital.

Police stated, “They said that a person had been brought to the hospital by his son, Shivam, in an injured and unconscious state, and was declared dead by the attending doctors.”

Following the information, a case was registered and an investigation was initiated.

As part of the preliminary investigation, the statement of the deceased’s son, Shivam, was recorded. He stated that at the time of the incident, his mother, wife, and sister were at home.

He reportedly said, “My wife told me that my sister, Anu, assaulted my father with a tawa.”

A senior police officer confirmed that Anu is unmarried and lives with her parents.

Based on Shivam’s statement, an FIR has been registered, and an investigation is underway to gather further details about the case.
