Bomb threats spark political row in Delhi as Kejriwal alleges collapse of law and order

Aam Aadmi Party’s supremo Arvind Kejriwal has slammed the BJP-led Delhi government over bomb threats to the educational institutions in the capital, stating that students are in the grip of fear, while parents are deeply worried.

Taking to X, Kejriwal wrote that the fresh bomb threats targeting schools and colleges is yet another chilling reminder of Delhi’s deteriorating law and order under the BJP’s so-called ‘four-engine’ government.

The AAP convenor and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly Atishi said the threats have created a climate of fear among children and anxiety among families, declaring that “all four engines of the BJP government have failed.”

In the wake of the threats reported at Delhi’s St. Thomas School and St. Stephen’s College on Tuesday – just a day after similar threats were sent to two other schools – Kejriwal took to X to demand accountability. “What is happening in Delhi under BJP rule? On Monday, two schools received bomb threats. On Tuesday, yet another school and a college were threatened. Children are terrified, parents are deeply anxious. BJP’s four-engine governments have failed completely,” he wrote.

Atishi called the situation “deeply alarming”. She wrote on X: “It is horrifying that schools and colleges in Delhi are repeatedly receiving bomb threats. Children are living in fear, parents are disturbed. The four BJP governments responsible for Delhi’s security have failed miserably. Do they care nothing for the safety of children? Law and order in Delhi has collapsed.”

MCD LoP Ankush Narang echoed similar concern, he wrote: “If even schools aren’t safe in the national capital, then what is? Day after day, bomb threats are being made to schools and colleges. Parents are sending their children to school with fear in their hearts. And yet, despite BJP’s so-called four-engine governance, there is no security. All four BJP engines have failed.”

The AAP also pointed out that similar threats were sent to Delhi’s Navy School in Chanakyapuri and CRPF School in Dwarka Sector 16 just a day earlier. “A few months ago, too, schools across Delhi were repeatedly threatened with bomb attacks. At the time, AAP had raised serious concerns about the deteriorating law-and-order situation and demanded corrective action. But the BJP paid no heed then – and today, the same dangerous pattern has returned. What exactly are BJP’s four engines doing when even the children of Delhi no longer feel safe?” the party said in a statement.
