Two juveniles held in Delhi for stabbing and robbing man
The incident was reported and under sections 392/394/397/34 IPC and registered at the Sarai Rohilla Police Station.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the Odisha Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police (DGP) to investigate into the plight of an innocent man implicated in murder of his ‘alive’ wife.
The commission, taking a serious view of the matter, asked the authorities concerned to take to task the erring police officials for lopsided investigation of the fake murder allegations.
The man is currently facing trial for allegedly murdering his spouse, which he did not commit. Since the woman who was alleged to be killed by her husband is alive with her children, the NHRC asked the DGP and the CS to take appropriate action against the investigators so that these kinds of incidents do not recur in future.

Acting on a petition filed by Rights Activist and Supreme Court Lawyer Radhakanta Tripathy, the NHRC passed the order.
The petitioner in his petition stated that Abhay Sutar from Kendrapara district was falsely charged by the police for killing his wife and had to languish in jail for the offence which he never committed as his wife has been found alive. The victim remained in Jail for a couple of months on account of gross negligence by the local police as well as by the State Authorities.
Tripathy requested the NHRC for action against the complainant, erring police officials and compensation to Abhay, who remained behind the bar.
“The allegations made in the complaint are serious in nature involving ‘Right to Life’ with dignity and gross negligence by the State functionaries therefore, this case involves grave violation of Human Rights of the victim”, the NHRC stated.
The NHRC later issued Notice to the Chief Secretary, Govt. of Odisha and the Director General of Police, Odisha calling upon them to get this matter independently enquiry upon by the Crime Branch/Criminal Investigation Department and send the complete report in the matter within a period of six weeks.
