Governor NN Vohra on Thursday assured Home Minister Rajnath Singh that the state administration is taking every step towards eradication of corruption and redressal of public grievances.

Vohra said this in a meeting in which the HM reviewed the security situation of the state in connection with the ongoing Amarnath pilgrimage.

Vohra said that steps were also being taken to check delay in the implementation of development and welfare programmes.

Rajnath held extended discussions with the Governor to review security management, Yatra management, implementation of development programmes and governance issues in a meeting held at the Raj Bhavan in Srinagar.

The meeting was attended by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, the three Advisors to Governor – BB Vyas, K Vijay Kumar and Khurshid Ganai, Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, Director General of Police SP Vaid, Principal Secretary to Governor and CEO, Shirne Board, Umang Narula, Principal Secretary, Home, RK Goyal.

The Home Minister was informed by advisor K Vijay Kumar about the overall law-order situation and framework put in place by the security forces for the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra.

The Chief Secretary presented an update of the implementation status of major projects under the Prime Minister’s Development Programme, particularly AIIMS, IITs and IIMs, Ring Roads at Jammu-Srinagar and other major development projects being executed by Central and State agencies.
