Slamming Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on dynasty politics, yet again, BJP chief Amit Shah on Monday said that his party believes in “politics of performance” unlike Congress which gives preference to “politics of appeasement”.

Delivering the inaugural address at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Executive meet, Shah said: “BJP believes in politics of performance, Congress in dynasty and politics of appeasement.”

“President, Vice President, Prime Minister (of India) reached their position due to performance,” he said further reacting to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, while on his visit to the US, that nepotism existed in every field in India and it was wrong to target him.

The BJP meet began here on Monday and is being attended by around 2,500 delegates from across the country. The concluding session of the meeting will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Being organised at Talkatora Stadium in Lutyen’s Delhi, the meeting will see participation of 15 BJP Chief Ministers, six Deputy Chief Ministers, 1,400 MLAs, 85 members of legislative councils, 280 ministers and 336 MPs.

Besides party’s central office-bearers, all state BJP Presidents and General Secretaries (Organisation) attended Sunday’s meeting.

Chaired by Shah, the day-long session will be the first-ever televised National Executive meet of the party with the economy’s slowing growth and next round of assembly polls topping the agenda.

On Sunday, Shah inaugurated the office-bearers’ meeting to finalise the agenda and resolutions likely to be passed at the Monday meet.
