Flavour of the season

The name Rajinikanth is enough to draw the masses to theatres. Every stylish move he pulls off on the big screen is cheered, even if his last two releases — Lingaa and Kochadaiiyaan – were just average grosser that landed the star in financial trouble.

Sensing the need to reinvent himself, Rajinikanth has signed a Pa Ranjith film in which he is said to be playing an ageing gangster. Ever since the title, Kabali, was revealed, there seems to be a lot of buzz. Bollywood beauty Radhika Apte has been roped in to play his lady love and the grapevine has it that Rajinikanth, taking a cue from Ajith, will be sporting a salt and pepper look. A close source said, “Rajinikanth Sir last week participated in the film&’s photo-shoot. He was sporting (a) salt and pepper look along with thick beard.” Flavour of the season?

Rani over Salman?

Doe-eyed Preity Zinta is undoubtedly one of the most successful heroines of the last decade. Having worked with all the big stars of Bollywood, she recently admitted that she was most scared of Salman Khan during the initial days.

“The only actor I used to be scared of before I worked with him was Salman Khan,” she tweeted in a Q&A session with fans. “I used to love to see Salman squirm and get embarrassed hearing my dialogues in Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. He actually is kinda shy,” she added. They have worked together in five films till date and are known for their cute onscreen chemistry.

On the other hand, Khan seems to be a huge fan of Zinta, He even shared a picture of her, which he had taken during IPL 2015. But when it came to her favourite co-star, Zinta revealed, “Of all my co-stars, my best would be the one and only Rani Mukerji. She&’s a pleasure to work with and we had the greatest chemistry.”

Fawad Khan to play gay

Fawad Khan&’s recent moves might have given people a feeling that he isn’t bold enough for Bollywood. But, hey, just because he doesn’t want to get intimate onscreen doesn’t mean he&’s shying away from bold roles. A source revealed, “Fawad will play a gay in Kapoor & Sons Since 1921. And yes, the character will be daringly different from anything we have seen the actor do on screen till date.” Let&’s watch and watch.

Khan has played some pretty intense characters and even when he portrayed the college-going Zaroon in popular Pakistani television show Zindagi Gulzar Hai, he was not just another college kid. Khan, rumour goes, wants his stay in Bollywood to be memorable and he&’s carefully picking offers. Karan Johar is also said to be closely monitoring all his work. And while there was a buzz that Khan has fallen apart with the Kapoors, Sonam and Rhea after he walked out of their adaptation of Battle Of Bittora because of some intimate scenes that were incorporated, insiders claim otherwise. It seems all is still well between Sonam and him. The flick also features real life couple Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. While the lovebirds are the talk of the town on this project, it won’t come as a surprise if Khan walks away with all the accolades after the film&’s release on 18 March 2016.
