A Russian passenger plane has crashed in the eastern Amur region bordering China, killing all 49 people, including crew members, onboard. The An-24 passenger plane, operated by Angara Airlines, had disappeared from the radar while approaching its destination, Tynda, Russia.
Following its disappearance earlier today, the local authorities deployed “all necessary forces and means” to search for the missing plane. According to local media reports, an Mi-8 helicopter operated by Russia’s civil aviation authority located the burning fuselage of the missing Russian passenger plane.

“Emergency services reported finding the crash site some 15 km from the destination. Debris and signs of fire were spotted from a helicopter dispatched in response to the incident. Rescue workers on the ground are currently making their way to the fallen aircraft,” reported Russia Today.
According to Russian media, there were 43 passengers, including five children and six crew members, on board the ill-fated plane. The plane had taken off from Khabarovsk and was going to Tynda.
A video of the crash shared on social media showed a thick white smoke billowing into the sky from the crash site located in the middle of a dense forest.
Following the crash, Russia’s Investigative Committee ordered an investigation against the airline for the violation of air transport safety rules, reported Russia Today.
