As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is set to hold a meeting on seat sharing in the state assembly elections, the Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular (HAM-S) also has decided to hold its core-committee meeting on Saturday, party sources said.
“All the party core-committee members will be meeting in Patna at Manjhi’s residence on Saturday to decide on the seats sharing plans and also the number of seats it plans to contest in the polls,” the sources said.
The HAM-S was formed in May this year after former Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi along with 19 other MLAs were expelled from the ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U). Then, Manjhi in June announced to support the BJP-led NDA in the state.
The HAM-S is, now, demanding 45 seats from the NDA to contest in the state assembly elections.
However, another NDA member Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) led by union minister Ram Vilas Paswan has opposed the tickets to nine MLAs of the HAM-S, who earlier in 2005 deserted the party.
