China's economy grew 6.9 per cent in the first quarter, a tenth more than in the last quarter of 2016, according to data released on Monday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
From January to March 2017, China's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the total value of goods and services produced, amounted to $2.62 trillion, Efe news reported.

The Chinese government has set a growth target for the national economy of around 6.5 per cent in 2017, after a target of 6.7 per cent in 2016, the lowest targeted growth for this country since 1990.
