At least 14 persons died and eight were injured in a shooting late on Tuesday in a drug rehab centre in northern Mexico, the police said.

The assailants entered the centre “Uniting Families” and opened fire at the people inside, Xinhua reported.

Police and soldiers who responded to the report found 18 people dead at the scene and two more injured, one of whom died later at hospital.

Three more people were wounded. One of them succumbed to his injuries as the wounded were being taken to hospital.
