Now, the government has raised the bar, aiming to extend this support to 67.50 lakh elderly in 2025–26, officials here on Tuesday confirmed.
The scheme’s components are Price Support Scheme (PSS) and Price Stabilisation Fund (PSF), along with Price Deficit Payment Scheme (PDPS) and Market Intervention Scheme (MIS).

The newly created co-districts are Boko–Chhaygaon and Palashbari (Kamrup), Borsola and Rangapara (Sonitpur), Mariani and Teok (Jorhat), Makum and Digboi (Tinsukia), Dholai (Cachar), and Dudhnoi (Goalpara). Eight of them will be inaugurated on Tuesday, followed by the remaining two on Wednesday.
