Sharmila had spent the night in the party office, Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada to avoid being put under house arrest. She later lashed out at her brother and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy calling him a dictator.
The move came just two weeks after Sharmila merged her party, YSR Telangana Party with the Congress.
Speculation is rife in political circles that YSRTP is keen on an alliance or a merger with the Congress ahead of Assembly elections in Telangana.
Peeved by the denial of funds to Telangana, the BRS put up posters in Hyderabad targeting the Central government. The party has been reaching out to people with posters alleging step-motherly treatment of the state whenever PM Narendra Modi came visiting.

The incident happened in broad daylight in Andhra Pradesh’s Mangalagiri where Sharmila was campaigning to garner support for her brother.
