Headquarters Western Command, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), will organise a high-level Joint Seminar and Exhibition on Disaster Risk Resilience at Chandimandir on January 28, aimed at strengthening India’s preparedness against natural and man-made disasters.
On this proud occasion, Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, GOC-in-C Western Command, complimented all ranks of the Command for their selfless service and excellent performance, as demonstrated during Operation Sindoor and the recent flood relief operations in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Punjab.
According to an official statement, to mark the occasion, an exclusive weapons and equipment display will be organised on 12th and 13th September at Tiranga Urban Park, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
In a statement issued here, the Western Command’s spokesperson stated that more than 50 Army columns have been activated on the ground until now, with relief efforts running round the clock to rescue stranded people, restore vital infrastructure, and deliver life-saving assistance as part of the humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.
A total of 47 Army columns have been mobilised, comprising personnel from engineers, medical detachments, and communication teams also in addition to the Main rescue teams.
