Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said he spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the recent developments in West Asia, welcoming the progress made in negotiations and expressing hope that ongoing diplomatic efforts would pave the way for lasting peace in the region.
The Prime Minister expressed India's hope that the implementation of this understanding will help restore peace and stability in the region.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated that this was "totally unacceptable."

The latest warning from Trump comes hours after Iran announced closure of the Strait of Hormuz in response to US strikes.
The deceased, Aditya Sharma, was serving as a deck cadet aboard the vessel and was among the Indian crew members caught in the incident.
