Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the township, hand over keys of the houses and distribute land titles to the beneficiaries at a function to be held at Elston Estate in Ka;petta on Wednesday.
On the first anniversary of the disaster on Wednesday, many survivors visited the site where their loved ones were buried, recalling their memories and placing flowers on the graves.
The amount will be paid from the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF).
The State government had submitted an additional, detailed memorandum to the Central government.
The CM said that donations to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) could be made online.
