The chief Minister to a question raised by MLA BB Batra regarding the number of BPL cards during Question Hour on the second day of the Winter Session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Friday.
The Youth Congress organized the protest against ‘vote theft’ and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists.
"This is a kind of 'vote chori' and was one of the deciding factors in the outcome of the assembly polls there," he remarked.
In stark contrast, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led Mahagathbandhan lagged far behind, and the 139-year-old Indian National Congress limped with just a few seats.
She informed that 1,795,370 citizens in the state had signed petitions against alleged voter fraud, which are now being sent to Delhi.
Addressing a press conference in Delhi today, Rahul alleged that the Election Commission of India didn't provide the information the CID had sought despite 18 reminders.
They, he said, have made an "ornament out of politics of allegations".
This comes after the Congress party used the slogan extensively during the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar to accuse the ECI of alleged manipulation of election rolls and results.
Accusing the BJP of attempting to politicise the issue, the RJD leader called it a party of double standards. “They are enacting a drama to divert public attention from the vote theft allegation against them,” he contended.
"People call Rahul Gandhi 'Pappu'; we did not. It was the senior secretaries of the AICC, Congress members themselves, who gave him that name. I do not think he is foolish," the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said.
