The Venezuelan government sent more than 26 tons of humanitarian aid for those affected by Hurricane Otis ripping through Acapulco on the Mexican Pacific coast, Venezuela's Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister for Latin America, Rander Pena, said.
Earlier in the day, the US Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Ariana Fajardo Orshan said in a virtual press conference that she had a message for all top Venezuelan officials: "The party's over."
The sanctions will block any assets of Rosneft Trading or the Belgian-born Casimiro that come through the United States. It also makes transactions with them a crime for anyone under US jurisdiction.
Guaido in January assumed a rival presidency in Venezuela, alleging that Maduro's 2018 re-election was illegitimate, and is seeking international actions to oust the president.
Putin also said that dialogue with opposition forces in the Latin American country must continue.
Guaido's declaration that he is the country's legitimate acting president, which has been supported by more than 50 countries, plunged Venezuela into a political crisis.
The opposition coalition, Democratic Unity Roundtable (MUD) also called for more protests against the government of President Nicolas Maduro on the day of the vote.
