Northern Railway Lucknow Division administration has implemented the mega traffic and power block for the repair of the Kanpur bridge on the Lucknow-Kanpur section.
The newly covered routes include Vadodara–Virar (344 km) on Western Railway, Tuglakabad Junction Cabin–Palwal (35 km) on Northern Railway, and Manpur–Sarmatanr (93.3 km) on East Central Railway.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to flag off the first Vande Bharat sleeper train on the Guwahati (Assam) to Kolkata (West Bengal) route, likely around January 17-18.
The introduction of the trains is expected to significantly enhance connectivity across several regions, facilitating faster and safer travel for passengers. The Banaras-Khajuraho route, in particular, aims to strengthen tourism by linking two culturally and historically rich destinations.
Arrangements were made for a rousing welcome at six locations from where the PM travelled to BLW guest house by road.
As part of this unique initiative, passengers will be served traditional dishes during breakfast and lunch on board.
