The Congress party has begun preparations for the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. The party’s Uttar Pradesh unit plans to hold around 15 separate conventions to strengthen its support among various caste groups.
After a month-long fierce political battle, the much-awaited results of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls will be declared on Thursday.
Polling began on Monday on 54 seats for the seventh and last phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Over 2.16 crore voters are eligible to exercise their franchise at 25,794 polling places and 15,557 polling stations in the third phase of Assembly elections.
"Phase I has seen 59.87 per cent polling till voting ended," said the ECI statement said.
