If under Western pressure, India had voted against Russia in the UN Security Council or in the Human Rights Council, while Pakistan and China abstained, would it have benefitted India at a time when she faces a security threat in its neighbourhood? On the contrary, that would have alienated Russia and opened the possibility of a Russo-China-Pakistan entente ranged against India

Prospect of peace

Tehran now has a foothold on the Arabian Peninsula and while the Houthis don’t follow Iran blindly, their military leadership has established a close relationship with Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The world has the ill-conceived intervention in Yemen by the Saudis to thank for this.

Russian Muddle ~II

Despite India's historic ties with Russia, Moscow has been more vocal than even China in showcasing its opposition to the Indo-Pacific construct and the Quad platform. Russia has even begun to flirt with Pakistan. So, India needs to recalibrate its approach and ensure it does not bind itself to Russia's coattails and get singed in the blowback
