Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who was present at the accord signing ceremony in New Delhi, said today is a historic day for Tripura and through this pact, the Centre has looked at the future by honouring history and accepting present day realities.
The ruling BJP is leading in 3 seats, the Congress in 2 seats and the CPIM in 1, as per the latest trends in counting for the Tripura Assembly polls.
According to the sources, while Congress and the Left have come together, the ruling BJP is still in search of an appropriate partner. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has declared an official list of 43 candidates with several new entrants.
